Exton is a small town in Pennsylvania, roughly 25-miles from Philadelphia. The city is located in West Whiteland Township in Chester County and it consists of just one neighborhood. Beginning in the late 18th century, the Lancaster Road became a major transportation route between Philadelphia and the west, while what is now Route 100 was a regional north-south route to Pottstown. A theory exists that Exton was named as the "X" on the map, denoting this intersection.

Many of those who live in Exton work outside of the city with a large percentage making the commute everyday into Philadelphia. Of those who work within the city limits, the most common occupations are sales and office professionals, managers and administrative support.
